We got back Friday before last, just in time to order pizza, take showers, lowkey unpack, and either crash or go for Macca (McDonald's) runs.
Camping for three weeks was a great adventure, being able to have the ocean two minutes away, four wheel driving to get in or out of the camp ground, learning how to drive manual, tanning (and for some people, burning), lots of loud music, and three weeks of amazing lectures. Our lecture subjects while camping were "Fear of the Lord", "Authority and Submission", and "Spiritual Warfare". It was so good hearing stories, examples, insight, and practical application for all of them.
This last week was missions week, and our speaker had a huge heart for China. He invited all of us to see if we were called to go to China. In the middle of missions week, we had missions morning. What's missions morning? (I'm glad you asked.) Well, missions morning is when the base showed us all it had to offer- what base life looks like if we wanted to come back as staff, some passions that people work in, both as a base/school/personal callings they work in to share the gospel with, some secondary schools it has, and some frontier work they're part of around the world & that we could join if we were called to it.It was so cool talking to people afterwards, asking what stuck out and hearing what they wanted to do. We also talked about what we are praying about doing after DTS. Some of the secondary school students were thinking about staffing a DTS, or attending another school they felt a calling for.
Since being here God has really been been showing me ways I've viewed Him wrongly, and has been revealing how to view Him rightly. This last week He's really been asking me if I'd be willing to lay down things I've held on to, and if I believe that if He chooses to take those things, He'll bring something even better. One of the things He has told me to put down was India, but to take up the 10/40 window. (Yes I know that India is in the 10/40 window, thank you, but He was asking me if I'd focus on a bigger picture instead of a small piece and stop ignoring all the other people He wants to reach just as much as He wants the people from India.) The answer was difficult, but a certain yes.
-Updates-
Payed off my outreach fees, I turned 19 last Thursday; time differences made it pretty funny to Skype my family and have them sing happy birthday technically the day before. (Everyone I talk to regularly knows I want to do BAS, and keep introducing me to BAS staff + anyone they know that has a slight interest in BAS, it's fantastic!) Also hey, we're over half way through lecture phase, we only have four more weeks of lectures, and we leave March 31 for our outreach phase sooo that's super exciting!!!
-Prayer-After our next 4 more weeks of lectures, I'll be on outreach so I won't be able to talk to y'all very much. Since I payed off all of my outreach fees this week, my finances are low & when I get back from our outreach, I will only have two weeks before my next school starts. I'd love for you to pray about donating, of course you can always write me if you have more questions about it.
That's all for now, if you have any questions feel free to comment or pm me.
Thank you for all your prayers, love you guys!!!
