YWAM Perth, Primary Health Care School Staff
Hey Guys,
So sorry for the long delay between updates! We’ve been so
busy learning as the PHC, this last week the students learned emergency
response which was so much fun for them to learn what it looks like to be in
different scenarios and to take care of people and even have reporters (this
was another school learning how to get stories
and share them accurately and well to glorify God) try to interview them as
they respond to the situation. (I’d
share pictures but I know a lot of people wouldn’t be very comfortable with how
well we do the makeup on our lovely actors. 😉 ) Me and Emma got to be part of recruiting
actors, doing the makeup, setting up the scene and seeing what all goes into
doing emergency response week. Which was fun but very tiring, so glad our
students got to learn so much from it though.
Going into this next week we have staff retreat, which is
when almost all the staff go away camping for a week (a few staff stay with the
students), we rest, but also get really encouraged and built up to a get a
fresh vision of what being a God fearing missionary looks like, and many people
also get vision for what else God has called them to in the future. I’m so
excited to be apart of it this year and see what God has to say to us as YWAM
Perth.
I do have to mention what I’m sure a lot of people have been
wondering about the corona virus- yes is has reached Perth Australia with there
being three confirmed cases. The base is doing everything we can to prevent the
spread of anything- we clean even more frequently, we’re also having returning
teams stay somewhere else, and we’ve even cancelled our weekly meetings (which
is actually quiet sad because it gave us a lot of great words to mediate on,
and good worship is always sad to loose).
Also because of the Corona virus we we’re relooking at all
our outreach locations- as the primary health care school we’ve prayed and
decided not to go to South East Asia for outreach and will be heading to the
Kimberley’s, northern Australia, for outreach.
We have a lot of contacts there, and it’s somewhere as a base we have
committed to seeing reached and have a schools that go there consistently every
year.
I’m still trusting for $2,720usd for outreach, and I’m going
back to the Kimberley’s in July after the school which is another $1,350usd.
I’m trusting for the finances by March 10, I’d love to invite you to partner
with me and see the Kimberley’s impacted for Jesus through Health care.
Here are some ways
you can give and
support me in missions- I’m so excited to be going back to the Kimberley’s
three years after I went there the first time on my DTS. I’m so grateful for
the opportunity to see God move in new ways up there and grow my heart for this
nation He’s called me to for the time being.
I’d love to hear your thoughts and updates on life,
Love Jo
