(^That's most of my class, a couple people were standing and a couple people arrived later, but this is us for the next eleven months!)
The Bali/visa run went super smoothly, got my visa five minutes after applying for it, and got to rest a good deal. I had a smooth coming back too, even got to sleep on the plane on the way back (blessings of having the whole row empty!)
When I arrived back, there were already several girls here for BAS, and many more started showing up for the next few days. Everyone was super welcoming, and quick to share what they had and help in anyway they could. It’s been weird going from my DTS mates, that I’ve spent the last six months with, to having a totally different (all girl) crew that has only just met, but acts like they’ve known each other forever. (That partly comes from the fact that we know we’re spending the next eleven months together.)
We had all our orientation and first week of lectures, which was pretty exhausting. I took a couple naps and watched a lot instead of participating (also got an amazing amount of prayer, yay staff). In Lectures we talked on the character and nature of God. We had already learned Character and nature of God the second week of DTS, but it was so good going through it again knowing it’s so that we don’t come to God angry because we believe any lies about his character. Because his character + nature is the foundation for everything we do in the next eleven months, (in fact, it is the foundation for all of life.) and we want to be able to ask in all humility where God is good in a situation instead of yelling it at him because of something we’ve seen, or went wrong in one of the countries we go to.
We’ve started our second week now, we talked on the Godly midwife, really hit home on how we’re called to be Godly women before anything, and we’re missionary’s before we are midwives. It was so amazing reading the story in Exodus 1:8-22, and how potentially one of those midwives or one of their friends delivered Moses and he delivered a whole nation, and how basically we never know who we’ll be delivering in the next eleven months!
Thanks to all the generous giving I received, all my lecture phase money was in, in time! Praise the Lord! Please continue praying for the outreach phase and the finances I'll need the too!
We learned how to take vitals the other day, most of us practice a lot of each other and our staff because it's confusing/hard in the beginning, but we're getting it!
I’m so excited for this new season of growing and really getting an idea of what God is calling me to long term afterwards. In the present time I have a wonderful one-on-one and God is bring up different things that he wants me to work on so that’s been really good and challenging.
