WEEK TWO OF MANILA, ROUND 2

Well, back in Manila for round two is so exciting: new team, new region, new goals and purposes.

The first week was so busy! We spent our time mostly bible reading. In between we did evangelism, prayer walking, talking to clinics, home visits, and looking for pregnant mums for a case study, and mothers with young children for community profiles (both part of our home work while we’re here). Even from week one we’ve been welcomed into clinics, partnering with them to do antenatal check ups and being invited to deliver babies. By the end of week one we had already welcomed three beautiful babies into the world. It’s been amazing to see God’s goodness, as everywhere we turn we are greeted with opportunities to go everywhere and do everything.

This last week we’ve done more home visits, antenatal visits at homes and clinics, did some community profiles, and we’ve done several open airs. We did a clinic with a local doctor who pays for everything out of his own pocket. We also did a community teaching for three days, a medical mission with several churches, and we delivered another five babies throughout the week. I personally got to go to my first birth here, and two women ended up having their babies hours apart, Katie and I were able to each catch our first baby and second (assist) for each other.

This upcoming week has a lot packed in. We’ll have corporate, which means every team in Manila right now will be meeting in one region to give testimonies, and do group evangelism to make a bigger impact in one spot. We’re going to continue developing relationships with clinics by doing antenatal with them, and going when ever they call about any women in labor. We’re going to be developing a relationship with a school, hoping to teach at least once a week, and working in a hospital twice a week in the labor ward.

Thank you guys so much for praying and writing me.
Love you guys
