Primary health care school

Hey guys, Sorry for not being able to do any updates while on outreach, I’ve been home for a month. I loved doing the primary health care school, and getting to spend three months in Malawi. We got to go to four different locations, pray for 4914, shared the gospel with 3612, saw 1567 salvations, 120 healings, held 37 clinics, 16 deliveries, 334 glasses and 337 sunglasses, saw 200 women for antenatal care, saw 3802 patients, did 73 hours of teaching on 25 topics- and 3,556 people were taught in one or more of those topics. We also had the privilege of giving out 467 copies of the gospel of mark and bibles! Here’s a little of what we did in each location and some stories from each of them!

Ntcheu-

We did lots of mobile clinics, treating anyone and everyone. We treated pneumonia, STI’s, malaria, fungal infections, joint pain, injuries, UTI’s, flus. We also did eye tests, eye education, gave out glasses and sunglasses; we also did education on cough and cold, fever reduction, hygiene & hand washing, and malaria prevention. We also got to be part of the community and work in the private clinic. We treated so many people, got to see healings, salvation’s, and so many people educated in preventative health care.

^One of the ladies who saw healing that day

Story- We were doing eye checks, and giving out glasses. That day so Many women were coming and they had cataracts, and none of the classes were helping. So we start praying for their cataracts, and they started getting healed! There were seven different women who got healed that day!

Story- We were running a mobile clinic and the family came in, each one had a totally different problem. One of the the children and the mother had joint and body pain in different spots. I prayed for them and they got healed

Ntaja- We worked at a government clinic and hospital, we prayer walked quad Bible read around the community, mosque. We got to do a home visits, and we got to work with the local base in their bible studies, orphan and youth ministry. We also got to be apart of the bases Pastor meetings, and a women’s conference they held. We also had the pleasure of holding eye clinics and regular clinics most afternoons we were there. We were sad to leave, we enjoyed the base, and how much we got to see God move in that community.

Story- I have the privilege of working at the clinic, I got admit a woman who is in labor, administer vaccines and do prenatal check ups, and even do cough and cold education for all the mums who were coming for check ups for when their baby’s were born.

Story- We got to be part of helping teach a woman’s conference, we got to teach three different healthcare topics that they were able to take back through villages. They were over 70 women that took the information back tot heir villainess and are now teaching their friends and family. It’s amazing how much preventative healthcare can easily spread and prevent worse sicknesses.

Story- I loved getting to give vaccines multiples times during this week in Ntaja. And knowing that I was getting to save lives, getting to pray for each of them and their mothers. Even gave out bibles to some of the mothers who wanted one.

Blantyre- We were in Blantyre several times between locations, we got to prayer walk and Bible read around a mosque, and we got to renew our visas. We also got to go to school, do healthcare education, children’s checks and run a clinic.

Story- One week while we are in Blantyre we got to teach cough and cold care to over 200 (I haven’t gotten an exact number and I’ll find out later) children. We also got to share the gospel. It’s amazing that teaching healthcare can change lives, but also gives us the opportunity to share about what God has done. Story- I was Bible reading by the mosque in our first days in Malawi, and as we were leaving a woman came up to us holding her baby. The baby wasn’t responding and we had no translator, or any medical equipment or medicine with us. The lady want us to come home with her but our leaders had asked us to be home soon. So I did the only thing we could, prayed. Instantly the baby woke up and start smiling and trying to talk to us. We were amazed at how fast God works.

Phalombe- We worked in a government clinic, ran mobile clinics, and worked with the base- doing children and youth ministry, pastor bible study, started a womens bible study, along with giving out 116 bible!

^A Muslim-expecting mother, who received the gospel of mark in her mother tongue, who was also able to share it with her mother!

Story- I had been praying and hoping I’d get to do at least one delivery while on outreach. On Monday, during my quiet time, I got a picture of the labor room at the local clinic. The next day while I was at the clinic, I got to do a delivery, and assist in another one!

Story- I got to do a lot of wound care and just be with people. I really loved getting to be with people and cleaning wounds so they get to heal properly.

Story- We held a mobile clinic in a rural village and a man came with a infected tumor in his head. He had gone to a doctor and been told that he had come too late. We told him to come and we'd treat him. It was so sad seeing how with primary
